Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ian Lang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kamil Grygar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kamil Grygar has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 1, fighting out of London, Ian Lang!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Kamil Grygar!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Andrew Berry and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grygar gets off balance looking for a body kick

and Lang counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Lang.
Grygar is wriggling around but Lang manages to pass to half guard.

Grygar trying to control from the bottom.
Grygar wants to control but Lang passes into side.
Lang has control of an arm but Grygar manages to advance to Lang's back!
Grygar doesn't have the hooks in and Lang manages to turn into his guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Lang stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Grygar tries a head kick but it misses.
Grygar shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Lang avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Lang tries to counter by clinching up but Grygar breaks away and moves out of range.

Grygar shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Lang sprawls well. Lang wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Grygar gets slowly back to his feet.
Lang slaps away a takedown attempt from Grygar, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Ian Lang has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kamil Grygar.
Horrible takedown attempt by Grygar or perhaps it was just good defense by Lang, which made it look bad.
Lang swings for the body but Grygar moves out of range.
Grygar shoots in but no luck this time.
Lang slips a jab and a cross from Grygar.

Grygar is fighting off a takedown attempt but Lang is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Grygar to the mat. Grygar regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Lang will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Lang is looking to stand up but Grygar won't let him.
Lang is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Lang wants to stand but Grygar has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Lang not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Lang has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Grygar is proving hard to escape from.

Grygar looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Lang passes into half guard.
Still in half guard, Lang seems content to control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lang stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Grygar to get to his feet.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Lang shoots in and bounces Grygar off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Lang gets to his feet - Grygar follows without any prompting.
Grygar is looking to clinch.
Grygar misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Lang half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


No joy there for Grygar, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Grygar jumps guard but Lang stands there with Grygar around his waist. Grygar gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Grygar's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

The fight stays on the outside here - Lang looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Kamil Grygar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nice takedown defense from Lang. No joy for Grygar on that attempt.

Grygar is looking to clinch but Lang is avoiding it.
Lang stuffs the takedown attempt from Grygar. Grygar gets slowly back to his feet.
Lang looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit.

Lang rushes Grygar and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Lang throws a head punch that misses.
Grygar trying to stall but Lang improves his position.
Lang really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Lang throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.

Grygar manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Lang is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Lang escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Grygar closes the distance and clinches up with Lang, looking for a takedown. Grygar pushes Lang against the cage but Lang circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Lang half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Lang throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Grygar is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Lang misses with a takedown attempt - Grygar sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Grygar has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Lang is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Grygar.
Lang is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Grygar can do to turn this around?

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Grygar tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Lang defends well and Grygar ends up having to push Lang into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Lang shoots in looking for a takedown but Grygar manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Lang's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Grygar goes for a double leg but Lang avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Lang continues to drive forward.

A counter left hand to the body from Lang misses its target.
Grygar tries to close the distance and clinch up but Lang swats him away and circles back towards the center.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Well Lang has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
