PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mase Force (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Harry Potter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Paul Tew and James Atkins.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Force misses with a right hand

and Potter counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Potter missing with the ground and pound from half guard.

Potter is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Force doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Potter.
Potter thows a huge punch but Force dodges it nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Force keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Potter thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Potter drops an elbow to the side of Force's head.

Potter missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Force tries to roll over but Potter keeps him under control.
Potter looks to land a strike but Force avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Potter sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Potter trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Potter has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Tycoon Gym. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.
Potter throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Force works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Force wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Potter with a flurry of punches that miss.
Force knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Potter on the ground.
Force has control of Potter's left arm, preventing Potter from doing any damage.
Potter has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Potter loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Potter postures up in Force's guard and throws a big left but Force blocks it.

Potter drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Potter jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Force lands with a cross.
Mase Force is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Potter lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Force at a distance.
Potter uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Force.
A telegraphed right hand from Force misses the target.
Force scores with a shot to the body.
Force misses with a right hand
and Potter counters with a straight right hand.
Mase Force seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Potter misses with a looping right.
Force cracks Potter with a right hand to the side of the head.
Force throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Potter throws a lazy uppercut
and Force counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Force tries to clinch there but Potter circles away.
Potter takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Potter shoots for a takedown but Force saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Potter misses the shot to the body.

Force pushes Potter up against the cage in a clinch.
Force pushes Potter back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Potter letting Force take a breather here.
Force lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Potter backwards.
Force will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Potter up against the cage.
Potter fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
A nice right hand lands inside from Force.
Force lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Potter or not.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Force lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Potter backwards.
Potter blocking some punches.
Force cracks Potter with a nice body shot.
Potter looks winded!
Force lands an uppercut.
Force lands a right hand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Mase Force will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Potter slips a jab and a cross from Force.
Potter takes one to the side of the head.
Potter takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Force gets in close and tags Potter with a short punch that almost sends Potter to the mat! Oh Potter is in big trouble! He turns his back on Force, trying to create some distance but Force rushes him, striking wildly and Potter goes down! The referee tackles Force into the cage to end the fight! Force is one violent man!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:21 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mase Force!
Mase Force decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
