PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Alex De Nascimento (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ibsmar Feckler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Alex De Nascimento!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ibsmar Feckler!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Sandra Marshall and Dirk Anderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De Nascimento misses with a takedown

and Feckler counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Feckler.

Feckler breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Feckler is looking to clinch.

Feckler feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Feckler stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. De Nascimento swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Feckler is still trying to improve position.
De Nascimento working a defensive guard here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
De Nascimento is pulling down on Feckler's head. It's preventing any offense from Feckler, at least for the moment.
De Nascimento is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Feckler looking to pass the guard.
De Nascimento not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
De Nascimento will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
De Nascimento has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Feckler wants to stand but De Nascimento is controlling his posture from full guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
De Nascimento is trying hard to land a takedown here. Feckler sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Feckler closes the distance and pushes De Nascimento back into the cage.

Feckler pulls guard effortlessly.

De Nascimento drops back looking for a leg! Feckler is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Feckler manages to kick De Nascimento off! De Nascimento jumps back into Feckler's guard.
Feckler has De Nascimento pulled in close to control his posture.

De Nascimento drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and De Nascimento jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Feckler looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but De Nascimento puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Feckler is trying to control but can't.

De Nascimento is looking for a kimura here.
Feckler is trying to get back to full guard.
De Nascimento could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

De Nascimento is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Feckler can do anything to dispel that myth.

Feckler wants to control the action here but instead De Nascimento manages to pass to full mount!
Feckler keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Feckler defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from De Nascimento.

De Nascimento is working for a guillotine from mount but Feckler frees his head quite easily.

De Nascimento wants to finish this one by submission but Feckler is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from De Nascimento.
Feckler really doesn't want to stay on the ground with De Nascimento. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Feckler wants to control but De Nascimento is having none of it.

De Nascimento has control of Feckler's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Feckler regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Feckler looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!
De Nascimento has the hooks in. Feckler is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

De Nascimento is working for the choke. It looks like he might have got it... has he...? Yes! Feckler is tapping out! This one is all over!
