The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Emerson Jorge and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Weese fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

davy manages to reverse the position and now he's in Weese's guard. Nice work there by davy.
davy has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
davy postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Weese is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of davy, into his guard.

Weese tries to free his leg and advance position but davy is retaining full guard.

Weese thows a big elbow that misses.
davy doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
davy scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Weese regains full guard. Nicely done.
Weese is trying to control the position but davy postures up.
Weese is controlling davy's posture.
davy looking to sit in guard and control but Weese gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

davy is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Weese is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Weese passes davy's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Weese is taking a breather. davy says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Randy Weese has got the better of the ground game so far.
Weese tries to pass the half guard into mount. davy knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

davy shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Weese's guard.

Weese is looking to sinch up a triangle. davy throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Weese's body to avoid the submission. Weese has instead reached around davy's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Weese arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
