Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rudy Pu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nickey Spillane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rudy Pu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nickey Spillane!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, John Roberts and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pu rushes Spillane and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Spillane drops down looking for an ankle pick but Pu pulls his leg out and moves away.
Spillane lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Pu jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Pu steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Spillane.
Pu throwing a counter right hand but Spillane manages to avoid it.
Pu changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Pu misses with a straight left.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Spillane, as that shot connected.
Pu moves away from the strike by Spillane.
Pu misses with a right hand
and Spillane counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.


It looks like Rudy Pu has been cut.
Spillane slips under a jab.
Pu tries to clinch but fails miserably
letting Spillane counter with a right hand.
Spillane looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Pu misses with a series of wild punches.
Spillane throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Pu counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Spillane lands a nice looking body kick.

Spillane takes a swing at Pu's ribcage but misses.
Pu tests Spillane's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Some wild striking there from Pu.
Rudy Pu is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Spillane throws out a powerful jab.
Spillane slips a jab from Pu.
Spillane looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Pu rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Spillane moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Pu throws a body shot but no joy.

Spillane closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Pu quickly recovers to half guard.

Spillane seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Pu does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Pu wants to control but Spillane is keeping busy.

Spillane lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Pu is looking to improve his position.
Pu looks like he's trying to stand up.

Pu wants to improve his position but Spillane is controlling well.
Pu has his hands clasped together around Spillane's back. He's all about the action.
Spillane seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Pu tries to grapple but his opponent circles
letting Spillane counter with a right hand.
Pu tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Spillane paws at him with a jab and circles away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
No joy there for Pu, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Spillane scores with a jab to the jaw.
Pu misses with a straight left.

Spillane feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Pu sprawling to the canvas! Pu rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Spillane finish him?!
Pu throws a body punch but Spillane moves out of range.
Pu throws a hook to the side of Spillane's head but Spillane sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Spillane cracks Pu with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Spillane has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Pu to stand back up!


Pu is rocked!
Pu doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Oh Pu is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
A big left from Spillane misses.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Pu checks a leg kick.
Pu seems to have got his legs back now.
Spillane is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Pu had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Pu scores with a hook.
Spillane lands a nice leg kick that just misses Pu's sensitive parts.
Pu checks a low kick from Spillane.
Pu blocks the body kick.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Pu walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Spillane checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Pu throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Spillane counters with a solid body kick.
Spillane has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.

Spillane drives through and clinches with Pu against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nickey Spillane dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Rudy Pu's cut.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


A low kick from Spillane misses
and Pu counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Spillane uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Pu.
Spillane misses with a head kick.
Pu throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Spillane sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Nickey Spillane seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Spillane tests Pu's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Spillane punishes Pu's body with a nice straight punch.
Spillane cracks Pu with a right hand to the side of the head.
Pu throws a jab when Spillane was well out of range.
Rudy Pu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Spillane misses with a looping right.
Pu takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Spillane throws the left hand but Pu avoids the punch easily.
Pu falls off balance throwing a combination
and Spillane counters with a slapping leg kick.
Pu is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
A big right from Spillane misses.
Spillane throws a leg kick which misses Pu's front leg but catches the back leg as Pu tries to avoid it.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Spillane tries to work over Pu's front leg with a kick but Pu checks it.

Spillane scores with a push kick.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Spillane checks a low kick from Pu.
Spillane has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Spillane fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Pu manages to avoid it.
Pu misses with a looping left.
Spillane looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it.

Spillane looks for the body kick but Pu saw that one coming.
Spillane misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Pu throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
A thudding body kick lands there by Spillane!
Pu throws a looping overhand right but Spillane ducks down to avoid it.
Spillane moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
No joy there for Pu, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Pu fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Spillane manages to avoid it.
Spillane fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Pu has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Spillane throws a big shot that misses.

Spillane scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Spillane closes this distance looking for a takedown but Pu circles away.
Spillane loads up on a big right hand but Pu slips the punch.

Pu tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Spillane was well out of range. Poor timing from Pu.

Pu on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Spillane misses with an uppercut. Pu saw that one coming.
Spillane takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Spillane takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

letting Pu counter with a right hand.
Spillane throws a head kick but Pu moves out of range.
Pu misses with the combination.

Pu wants to clinch.
Spillane is clearly looking to counter with head kicks.
A jab from Pu finds it's way through Spillane's defenses.
Spillane misses with a body kick.
Spillane lands with a hook. Pu tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Pu tries to land a leg kick but Spillane saw it coming and moves away.
Pu tries to close the distance and clinch up but Spillane swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Spillane lands a jab.
Pu throws a lazy right hand but Spillane sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Spillane connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Pu momentarily.
Spillane walks into a straight right hand from Pu.
Spillane fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Spillane thumps Pu with a low kick.
Spillane swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Pu.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Spillane tests Pu's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Pu jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Pu tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Spillane manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Spillane misses with a hook. Pu ducked under it nicely.
Pu was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Pu tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Spillane was well out of range. Poor timing from Pu.

Pu moves into the clinch successfully.

Pu throws an overhand right that lands on Spillane's shoulder, as Spillane tries to avoid the shot.
Pu takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Sloppy strikes from Pu. Those never looked like landing.

Pu rushes Spillane and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Spillane works on Pu's body with a couple of short punches.
Spillane throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Pus head.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Spillane.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nickey Spillane showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The cut man is working on Rudy Pu's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!



Pu gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Spillane accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Pu is adopting a defensive guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pu looking to control but Spillane passes into half guard.
Pu is trying to control but can't.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pu is trying to stand.
Pu tries to get to full guard but Spillane has control of the leg.

Pu is refusing to be controlled, as Spillane sits in half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Spillane in particular looking to stall.
Pu is trying to control but can't.
Spillane sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Pu defending well though.
Pu trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Spillane takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Pu keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Pu is in a horrible position here. Spillane smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Pu tries to lock up and control but Spillane gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Pu is desperately trying to improve his position but Spillane has a good base and remains in mount.

Spillane lands with some strikes.
Spillane punching from mount but Pu doing a good job of avoiding damage.
Pu is working to get back to half guard.
Spillane lands with some strikes.
Rudy Pu has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
BOOM! Spillane connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Spillane lands a nice shot to the head.
A big strike lands for Spillane! That's really hurt Pu and he's turned his back - Spillane keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Spillane jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Nickey Spillane!
Nickey Spillane seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
