Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mauricio Dela Cruz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 30 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Albert Fish!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Arvi Lind and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fish tries to sprawl but Dela Cruz drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Fish slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fish is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dela Cruz not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Dela Cruz postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Fish seems to have recovered his senses.
Fish manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Dela Cruz manages to get himself to full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We've been hearing good reports from Dela Cruz's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Fish drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Dela Cruz manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Fish has Dela Cruz in his guard.

Fish is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Fish has momentary wrist control but Dela Cruz slips an elbow through the middle.
Dela Cruz lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Dela Cruz loads up on a big left hand. Fish felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Dela Cruz looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Fish can't hide his disappointment, as Dela Cruz celebrates the victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mauricio Dela Cruz!
A relieved looking Mauricio Dela Cruz thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
