PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bartek Gor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Louis Corne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Corne comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Netherlands Antilles National Anthem kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Bartek Gor has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 12 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bartek Gor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Louis Corne!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Corne fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Corne darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Gor is trying to get back to full guard.
Gor trying to control here.
Gor tries to get to full guard but Corne has control of the leg.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Corne working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The fighters are battling for position here. Gor manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Corne got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gor has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Corne has managed to get both his arms back between Gor's legs - danger averted.

Gor makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Gor.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Gor throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Corne is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Corne's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Corne really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gor. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Gor looking for a guillotine here but Corne defends easily.

Gor has his foot on Corne's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Corne works his way back into a safe position though.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Corne passes Gor's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Gor is looking for a sweep. Corne is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Gor misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Corne perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Louis Corne dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Gor is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Corne is aware though and is defending well.
Gor seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.
Corne stays in close to Gor's body and controls the position.
Corne has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Corne slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Gor is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Corne rolls with it to try and escape but Gor cranks on the arm and Corne is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
