Freeman comes to the ring accompanied by Men At Work - Land Down Under. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jonas Freeman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Luiz Palhares!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Taro Takaoka and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Freeman misses with a wild body shot.
A cross from Freeman lands.
Freeman throws a big shot that misses.
Palhares slips under a jab.

Palhares scores with a takedown into Freeman's guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Freeman is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Palhares slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
I looks like Palhares might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Freeman wants to stand up but Palhares is controlling him.
Freeman looking to hit a scissor sweep but Palhares is one step ahead there.
Palhares passes easily into side control. Nice work.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Freeman wants to control but Palhares postures up.
Freeman tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Palhares is trying to get an arm triangle but Freeman is defending well.
Freeman is looking to reverse the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Freeman seems a little lost for a moment, as Palhares dominates the positioning.
Freeman is looking for a sweep.
Freeman is trying to control Palhares's posture but Palhares avoids it.
Freeman looks to move to half guard but instead Palhares has passed into mount! Damn!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Freeman tries to reverse the position but Palhares maintains control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Luiz Palhares will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Freeman connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
The fighters circling - Freeman throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Freeman will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Nice defenses there by Palhares.
Freeman scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Palhares doesn't seem bothered though.
Freeman misses with a two punch combination.

Palhares shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Palhares sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Freeman looking for a sweep. Not yet Freeman, not yet.
Palhares controlling from the top position.

Freeman tries to land a sweep but no joy.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Palhares trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Freeman working a defensive guard here.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Palhares avoids the body shot from Freeman.
Freeman closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Palhares! Freeman dives in looking to finish! Palhares is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:37 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jonas Freeman!
