Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Carson William (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aqif Naqash (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Aqif Naqash will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Carson William!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Aqif Naqash!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Robert Twigg and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Naqash closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
William could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
William fails to pull guard.
Naqash keeps the fight in the clinch, despite William's efforts to push away.
William wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
William tries to pull guard but Naqash forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Naqash breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
A big left from Naqash misses.
Naqash throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Naqash fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Naqash misses with a head kick.
William tries to counter by clinching up but Naqash breaks away and moves out of range.
William shoots and misses

and Naqash counters by moving into the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Carson William. That's going to take a lot out of him.

William tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Naqash just stands there and leans against the cage.
William has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
William tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Naqash pulls guard.
William wants to stand but Naqash is controlling his posture from full guard.

William stands and steps away. Naqash gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
William shoots in for a takedown but Naqash shows good takedown defense.
Despite the aggression on Naqash's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Naqash drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

William throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!

That's two minutes gone in the round.

A momentary lapse in concentration from William enables Naqash to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. William manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Naqash wants to stand but William has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Naqash is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
William wants to stand and escape but Naqash is having none of it.

Naqash controls from within his opponent's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

William wants to stand but Naqash is controlling the position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Naqash tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
William throws a quick counter head kick but Naqash was just out of range.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Naqash drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Naqash is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

William looking for a guillotine here but Naqash defends easily.
Naqash slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

William throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Naqash escapes and throws William's legs to the side, diving into side control!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Aqif Naqash dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Naqash tries to bum rush William with a series of wild strikes but William uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Naqash shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Naqash is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so William is just riding it out for now. Naqash eventually gives up the hold.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Naqash controlling the pace.
Naqash landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Let's hope that Naqash has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
William tries to get to full guard but Naqash has control of the leg.
William pushes Naqash off looking to stand but Naqash dives back in and keeps control.
William might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Well, if Naqash is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Naqash gets a takedown into half guard.
William moves into full guard.
Naqash slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Naqash with a nice head shot there.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
William throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
William utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Aqif Naqash has got the better of the ground game so far.
Naqash working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of William's head.

Naqash is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Naqash passes into half guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Naqash is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Aqif Naqash showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

William is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Naqash is controlling him well.

Naqash decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Naqash shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has William pinned against the cage. William gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

William slips a jab and a cross from Naqash.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Naqash. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Naqash tries to work over William's front leg with a kick but William checks it.
William appears to be looking for a big counter.
William tries for a takedown but Naqash circles away easily
letting Naqash counter with a right hand.


It looks like Carson William has been cut.
Naqash tries to clinch there but William circles away.
Naqash looks to score with a jab to the body but William is just out of range.
As Naqash tries to get set, William tries to push him back and clinch up but Naqash manages to avoid the attempt.
Naqash shoots in for a takedown but William shows good takedown defense.
Naqash throws a lazy head kick

and William counters with a nice double leg into side control. Naqash won't be happy with that.
Naqash takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

William tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no William has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

What's Naqash going to do here then? He's in a bit of a pickle.
Naqash is not content to let William control the position.
Naqash manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Naqash pushes William off looking to stand but William dives back in and keeps control.
Still in half guard, William seems content to control.
Naqash is refusing to be controlled, as William sits in half guard.

William is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

William stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

Naqash closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Naqash is taking a breather. William says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Naqash.
Naqash lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Naqash moves nicely into side control.
Naqash is working William over with some ground and pound from side control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Naqash wants to stand but William is controlling his arm.

And that's the end of the fight!
Aqif Naqash comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Naqash has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
