The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Solomon moves away from the strike by Silva.
Solomon looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Silva paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

It looks like Dana Solomon has been cut.
Silva throws a hook but Solomon avoids it easily.
Solomon quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.
Solomon shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Silva pinned against the cage. Silva gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Silva throws a lazy right hand but Solomon sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Solomon gets the takedown into side control.
Solomon lands some shots froms side control.

Solomon decides to stand back up.
Silva bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Solomon's head.

Nice defenses there by Solomon.
Silva looks to throw the jab but Solomon is out of range.
Silva throws a jab when Solomon was well out of range.
Silva jabs at Solomon's body.
A slow jab from Silva misses its intended target.
Solomon takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Silva lands a slapping body shot.
Silva misses with a straight left.
Solomon doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Silva counters with a left to the body.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dana Solomon. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Solomon is breathing heavily.
Solomon uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Silva.
Solomon gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Silva gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
