PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Christoper Hendricks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jorma Joukahainen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jorma Joukahainen told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Joukahainen tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hendricks was well out of range. Poor timing from Joukahainen.
Hendricks is looking for a counter combo.
Hendricks wants to clinch.
Joukahainen with the counter takedown but Hendricks avoids it easily.
Hendricks keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Hendricks pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Joukahainen shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Hendricks manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Joukahainen is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Joukahainen's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Joukahainen avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Joukahainen is pushing down on Hendricks's leg trying to pass to half guard. Hendricks is fighting to maintain full guard but Joukahainen has managed to sneak the leg through.

Joukahainen seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Let's hope that Joukahainen has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Hendricks could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Well, if Joukahainen is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Joukahainen is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Hendricks doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Joukahainen.

Hendricks knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Joukahainen on the ground.
