These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Faaloua rushes Santos and presses him up against the cage.
Santos is trying to break the clinch but Faaloua is controlling him.

Santos breaks from the clinch.
Santos misses with a body shot.
Faaloua follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land.
Good standup being displayed there by Santos as he connects with a hook.

It looks like James Faaloua has been cut.
Faaloua misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Faaloua tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Santos paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Faaloua closes the distance but Santos moves to the side
and Santos counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Faaloua thinking.
Faaloua throws a sloppy head kick
and Santos counters with a stiff right hand.
Santos circles away from the clinch attempt.
Santos misses with a double jab.
Santos throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Faaloua sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Santos avoids the head kick by Faaloua.
Faaloua takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Santos catches Faaloua with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Faaloua is looking to land body kicks.

Santos sends Faaloua crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Santos is motioning to the referee to let Faaloua up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Faaloua is rocked!
Faaloua throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Faaloua is still on wobbly legs! Can Santos finish him?

Santos throws an uppercut from hell that sends Faaloua clean off his feet! He's out cold! Santos stands back and admires his work as he thinks about that KO of the night award that is surely being wrapped up for him back stage.
