The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sigvardsson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but McCormick circles away quickly and effectively.
McCormick tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Sigvardsson paws at him with a jab and circles away.
McCormick shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Sigvardsson but Sigvardsson pushes him off and we're back to square one.
McCormick wants to clinch up but Sigvardsson keeps it at a distance.
Sigvardsson shoots for a takedown but McCormick saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Sigvardsson scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Nice shot lands for McCormick.
Sigvardsson shoots in for a takedown but McCormick shows good takedown defense.
Sigvardsson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. McCormick tries to avoid it but Sigvardsson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag McCormick to the ground. McCormick escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Benny Sigvardsson. That's going to take a lot out of him.

McCormick tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Sigvardsson cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Sigvardsson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Sigvardsson can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as McCormick is looking to escape.

Sigvardsson wants to control the pace but McCormick is squirming around nicely.
Sigvardsson is really struggling to control McCormick but he's trying to hold on to the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McCormick is looking to get to half guard.

McCormick really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sigvardsson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Sigvardsson is landing with some decent strikes but McCormick is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Sigvardsson wants to control the pace but McCormick is squirming around nicely.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sigvardsson is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. McCormick is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. McCormick flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Sigvardsson anticipates the leg and manages to get behind McCormick and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Sigvardsson slips an arm under McCormick chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Sigvardsson has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Sigvardsson is squeezing on McCormick like an anaconda would it's prey. McCormick fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
