PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dawid Dzingis Han (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and The Sumo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the super heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, The Sumo!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Stewart Dunkirk and Cecil Peabody.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dzingis Han shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Dzingis Han tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Sumo defends well and Dzingis Han ends up having to push Sumo into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Dzingis Han throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sumo's waist but Sumo gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Dzingis Han off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dawid Dzingis Han. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sumo misses with a double jab.
Some wild striking there from Sumo.
Dzingis Han shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Sumo pinned against the cage. Sumo gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Sumo misses with a double jab.
Sumo throws a right and a left that both miss.
Dzingis Han changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Sumo tries to avoid it but Dzingis Han manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Sumo to the ground. Sumo escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Sumo will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dzingis Han closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Sumo wants to stand back up but Dzingis Han manages to pass into side control.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Dzingis Han working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Sumo is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Dzingis Han has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Dzingis Han tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Dzingis Han has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Sumo is pushing Dzingis Han's head away, looking to escape. Dzingis Han manages to hold on to the position though.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Dzingis Han tries for a kimura but Sumo is defending well.
Dzingis Han will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Sumo bucks up and tries to throw Dzingis Han off but instead Dzingis Han has got his back!
Sumo is trying to get back to his feet but Dzingis Han has full control of the position and if anything, Sumo has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Dzingis Han working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sumo is trying to stand back up.

Dzingis Han is working for a rear naked choke. Sumo is not defending it well and Dzingis Han has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Sumo refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Sumo's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Dawid Dzingis Han!
