The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Dean Styles and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Garcon closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Garcon remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Garcon is trying to get an arm triangle but Mortis is defending well.
Garcon is staying tight to Mortis's torso, preventing him from escaping.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Garcon scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Mortis to see if he's OK.
Mortis is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Garcon's leg. Oh but that's left an opportunity for Garcon! He's got an arm triangle... it looks tight! He's rotating and Mortis has tapped! This one is allllll over!
