PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jeffry Serrano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vincenzo Crescenzo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Vincenzo Crescenzo was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jeffry Serrano!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Vincenzo Crescenzo!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Paul Aken and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Serrano gets the takedown into side control.
Crescenzo tries to improve position but can't.
Crescenzo stuck in half guard on the bottom here.
Serrano trying to control the action but Crescenzo is working from the bottom.
Crescenzo is trying to control Serrano's posture but Serrano avoids it.
Crescenzo tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Crescenzo wants to control but Serrano postures up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Serrano is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Crescenzo knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Crescenzo sneaks back into half guard.
Serrano wants to stand up but Crescenzo is controlling the position.

Crescenzo is trying to get back to full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Crescenzo is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Serrano prevents Crescenzo from improving his position.
Serrano is trying to control the action in half guard but Crescenzo is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Serrano is working for a submission of some sort.
Crescenzo is looking to improve his position.
Crescenzo holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Crescenzo tries to get to full guard but Serrano has control of the leg.
Crescenzo manages to get to full guard.

Crescenzo is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Crescenzo is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Serrano defends well.
Crescenzo pulls Serrano in to control the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Serrano closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Crescenzo lands a takedown into guard.
Crescenzo trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Crescenzo chips away with some ground and pound.
Serrano trying to keep a closed guard but Crescenzo is proving a slippery customer.

Crescenzo got a little sloppy there for a moment and Serrano has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Crescenzo has managed to get both his arms back between Serrano's legs - danger averted.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Crescenzo stands up over Serrano, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jeffry Serrano will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Serrano tries to score a power double leg takedown but Crescenzo sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Serrano somewhat.
Crescenzo is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Serrano shoots and misses
and Crescenzo counters with a nice uppercut.
Serrano has a takedown stuffed.
Crescenzo appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jeffry Serrano. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Serrano tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Crescenzo has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Serrano is trying to keep an underhook but Crescenzo manages to get the takedown into half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Vincenzo Crescenzo has got the better of the ground game so far.
Crescenzo working over Serrano with some ground and pound. Serrano looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Serrano has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Crescenzo is working away from the top position though.
Crescenzo has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Crescenzo lands a nice short elbow.

Crescenzo scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Crescenzo lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked Serrano! More strikes land and this one is all over! Crescenzo jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:27 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Vincenzo Crescenzo!
