The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mosby decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Davenport pushes Mosby off and gets back to his feet.

Mosby shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Davenport napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Mosby creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Davenport sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Davenport could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Davenport is looking for a sweep.
Mosby postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Mosby has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Davenport is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.

Davenport bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!

Davenport instigates a clinch.
Davenport fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Davenport is struggling to control the position.
Davenport is trying to pull guard but Mosby has him pressed against the cage.
Davenport tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Norman Davenport. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Davenport tries to stall but Mosby uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Mosby jumps guard and drags Davenport to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Mosby is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Davenport is aware though and is defending well.

Mosby has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Davenport off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Davenport can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Mosby controls the pace.
Davenport knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mosby on the ground.
Mosby stands and throws Davenport's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Davenport is breathing heavily.

Mosby has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Davenport is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Mosby yanks on the arm and Davenport is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Mosby.
