Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between brandon massie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Doug Ricky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ricky stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Ricky fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with massie, pushing him back against the cage.
Ricky tries to stall but massie uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Ricky has had enough of the clinch but massie keeps him there for the moment.

Ricky jumps into guard, dragging massie to the mat.
Ricky is trying to keep massie in close.
massie content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
massie working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Ricky controls massie momentarily but massie frees himself.
massie preventing the sweep.
massie throws a strike but Ricky rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
massie will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
massie wants to hit a switch here but Ricky passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for massie there!
massie is trying to escape the mount.

massie is squirming around, avoiding Ricky's attempts to control the action.
massie tries to reverse the position but Ricky maintains control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

massie really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Ricky fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
massie is wriggling around trying to escape.
massie knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ricky on the ground.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
massie swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.
Ricky can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as massie is looking to escape.

massie is in all sorts of trouble here.
Ricky trying to control but he's not successful this time.
massie really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Ricky lands with some strikes.
Ricky trying to control but massie is having none of it.
massie can't escape the position.
massie on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if massie tries to get out of the position.

Ricky wants to control the pace but massie is squirming around nicely.
Ricky connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
massie tries to reverse the position but Ricky maintains control.
A nice elbow there by Ricky.

massie is working to get back to half guard.
Ricky tries to control but massie wriggling away.

Ricky jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but massie manages to avoid the submission attempt.
massie is looking to regain half guard here but Ricky keeps moving and retains side control.
Ricky creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

massie is looking for a sweep.
Ricky lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
massie lands a little strike from the bottom.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
massie shoots in but Ricky avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Ricky tries to clinch but massie is having none of it.
Ricky fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
massie gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Ricky counters with a body kick that stops massie in his tracks momentarily.

Ricky scores with a takedown into massie's guard.

Ricky decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on massie, up you get!
Ricky closes the distance and lands a one-two.

massie is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Ricky closes the distance looking for a takedown. massie stuffs it but Ricky still has hold of him. Ricky picks massie up in a fireman's lift! The crowd roars in approval. Ricky slams massie to the floor and that's really hurt massie - he doesn't know where he is! Ricky throws a couple of strikes and the referee steps in to save him! This one is in the books!
