The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cavaricci misses with a takedown attempt - Jackson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Cavaricci shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jackson but Jackson pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Tirion Jackson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Woonsocket Cavaricci.

Cavaricci drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Jackson manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Cavaricci has Jackson in his guard.

Cavaricci had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Jackson is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Cavaricci Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Jackson's back instead.

Jackson is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
