Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Forest Rogers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Al Fian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Forest Rogers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Al Fian!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rogers closes the distance but Fian moves to the side

and Fian counters with a single leg into guard. Rogers didn't expect that.
Fian throws a big right hand that misses.
Fian trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Fian is in close to Rogers's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Fian slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rogers trying to keep a closed guard but Fian is proving a slippery customer.

Fian perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Rogers knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Fian on the ground.

Fian thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Rogers's head.

Fian is looking to advance position but Rogers won't allow it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Rogers is defending against the submission attempts here by Fian.
Fian wants to pass the guard but Rogers is defending well.

Rogers is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Fian perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Fian is nestled in close to Rogers, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Fian closes this distance looking for a takedown but Rogers circles away.
Rogers wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

Forest Rogers has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Al Fian.

Fian gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Rogers regains guard.

Fian has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Rogers pulls Fian in to control the position.
Fian has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Rogers is proving hard to escape from.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Fian shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Rogers defends it nicely.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Fian closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Rogers's guard.
Fian content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Fian tries to stand but Rogers is controlling from the bottom.

Fian sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Rogers's guard.

Fian seems to be working for a kimura but Rogers defends the submission attempt.
Fian throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Fian lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Fian is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Fian is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Al Fian showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!



Fian shoots in and bounces Rogers off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Rogers has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Fian has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Fian lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Rogers wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Fian is now in half guard.
Fian tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Rogers.
Well, if Fian is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Fian's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Rogers wants to get back to full guard.

Fian throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Rogers tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Fian is in Rogers's guard.
Fian is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Rogers is trying to control the position but Fian postures up.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Fian wants to get up but he can't break Rogers's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Fian loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Forest Rogers has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Al Fian is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

I've got Fian winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
