Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Theo Roberdo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Roy Kannemeyer!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, George Francis and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kannemeyer avoids the head kick by Roberdo.

Roberdo has managed to clinch.
Kannemeyer is pressed up against the cage. Roberdo has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Kannemeyer down to the mat. Kannemeyer avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Kannemeyer has his takedown stuffed
and Roberdo counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Kannemeyer misses with a head kick.
Kannemeyer looks winded!
Roberdo looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Kannemeyer tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Kannemeyer is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A punch combination from Kannemeyer misses.
Kannemeyer wants to clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Roberdo fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Theo Roberdo. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Roberdo has taken the fight to the clinch.
Come on Roberdo - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

Roberdo decides to pull guard.
Roberdo is adopting a defensive guard.
Roberdo wants to sweep but no luck.
Kannemeyer looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Roberdo wants to stand up but Kannemeyer is controlling him.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Roberdo wants to control the position but Kannemeyer says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

Roberdo is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and Kannemeyer has latched onto it... Big trouble! Kannemeyer pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Roberdo is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Kannemeyer!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Roy Kannemeyer!
