Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Aristos Ioannidis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vito Corleone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ioannidis kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is If I Can't - 50 Cent. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Vito Corleone enters the cage!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

12 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Vito Corleone!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Robert Douchet and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Corleone shoots in for a takedown but Ioannidis shows good takedown defense.
Ioannidis shoots for a takedown but Corleone saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Ioannidis drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Corleone has his foot on Ioannidis's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ioannidis works his way back into a safe position though.
Corleone bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Ioannidis's guard.
Ioannidis is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Corleone can do anything to dispel that myth.

Ioannidis throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Ioannidis fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Corleone to the ground. Ioannidis is now in Corleone's guard.
Corleone wriggles free and stands up.
Ioannidis shoots in for a double leg but Corleone sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Corleone slaps away a takedown attempt from Ioannidis, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Ioannidis looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Corleone is fending him off so far but Ioannidis persists. Nope, Corleone circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Aristos Ioannidis. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Corleone keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Ioannidis shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Corleone manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Aristos Ioannidis overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Ioannidis got a little sloppy there for a moment and Corleone has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ioannidis has managed to get both his arms back between Corleone's legs - danger averted.
Corleone is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Ioannidis presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Ioannidis is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Corleone can do to turn this around?
Corleone is working for takedown but Ioannidis is calmly controlling the position for now.

Ioannidis ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Ioannidis no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Corleone is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Ioannidis.

Ioannidis is pushing down on Corleone's leg trying to pass to half guard. Corleone is fighting to maintain full guard but Ioannidis has managed to sneak the leg through.

It looks like Ioannidis is going to stand back up.

Corleone is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Ioannidis defends well.

Ioannidis seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Corleone for as long as he can get away with.
Corleone is controlling Ioannidis's trapped leg to prevent Ioannidis from advancing to side control.

Corleone wants to control but Ioannidis is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Ioannidis dives in and grabs Corleone's left leg, looking for a takedown. Corleone pushes down on Ioannidis's head and hops out.

Corleone wants to take the fight to the mat but Ioannidis manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Corleone has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Ioannidis is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Ioannidis tightens his grip and picks Corleone up, before dumping him to the ground. Corleone manages to land in guard.
Corleone tries to strike from the bottom.

Ioannidis stands and steps away. Corleone gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Ioannidis lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Well Ioannidis has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
