Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dirk Diggler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chuck Liddell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chuck Liddell is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dirk Diggler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chuck Liddell!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Daniel Franklin and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diggler throws a series of punches but Liddell avoids them all with ease.
Liddell's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Liddell duly obliges.
Liddell fails in his attempt to clinch.

Diggler shoots in and bounces Liddell off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Liddell keeping moving, preventing Diggler from controlling successfully.

Liddell is looking for a triangle but Diggler pushes his legs off easily.
Diggler tries to free his leg and advance position but Liddell is retaining full guard.
Liddell pulls Diggler in close to prevent any damage.
Diggler works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Diggler moves into full mount! Liddell won't be happy about that!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Diggler is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Liddell is surviving well by controlling Diggler's body position as best he can.
Liddell really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Diggler. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Diggler is landing with some decent strikes but Liddell is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Diggler is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Liddell can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Liddell darts in and clinches Diggler up against the cage.

Liddell turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Liddell manages to end up in side control.

Liddell throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Diggler changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Liddell looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Diggler is looking to take a break and control but Liddell is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Diggler connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Liddell some visible discomfort.
Liddell is not content to let Diggler control the position.
Diggler creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Liddell is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Diggler is controlling him well.

Diggler looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Liddell with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Diggler is just content to waste time from the top position. Liddell takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Chuck Liddell has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Liddell lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Liddell.

Diggler closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Liddell to the mat! Liddell manages to get full guard.

Liddell pushes Diggler off and gets back to his feet.
Liddell moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Diggler changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Liddell tries to avoid it but Diggler manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Liddell to the ground. Liddell escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Dirk Diggler is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Liddell throws a right and a left that both miss.

Liddell gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Dirk Diggler showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Diggler, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
