Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Brandon Longson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, David Yung!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Lou da Vinci and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Yung gets a clinch.

Yung ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Yung no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Yung wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Yung has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Longson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Longson wants to control from the top but Yung keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Longson avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Yung is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Yung is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Longson defends well.

Yung working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Longson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Longson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Longson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Yung swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Yung had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Longson defends it easily.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Yung utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Longson pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Yung is keeping the position for now.

Longson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Yung looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

Longson with a flurry of punches that miss.

Longson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Yung has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Longson has managed to get both his arms back between Yung's legs - danger averted.
Yung is pulling down on Longson's head. It's preventing any offense from Longson, at least for the moment.
Our spies down at at Gorilla Warfare MMA inform us that Yung has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

Longson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Yung is trying to control Longson's posture. Longson takes advantage of the lull and advances to side control. He also appears to have an arm triangle here! Uh oh, big trouble for Yung! Longson is rotating here... this could be the end... Yung is out! Longson has ended this one emphatically! Great submission!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Brandon Longson!
Brandon Longson looked relieved post fight as he said the following; 'Nobody can go to the ground with me, when my striking improves the champ needs to watch out.'.
