PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Marcos Nansen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phil Mac (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nansen changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mac tries to avoid it but Nansen manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mac to the ground. Mac escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Nansen fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Mac stuffs the takedown.

Mac darts in and clinches Nansen up against the cage.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Mac is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Nansen throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Mac because Nansen loaded up on that one.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Nansen shoots in but no luck this time.

Mac changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Nansen looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Mac fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Nansen checks it well.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Nansen is pressed up against the cage. Mac has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Nansen down to the mat. Nansen avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Nansen postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Mac bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Nansen's guard.

Nansen is looking for a triangle but Mac pushes his legs off easily.
Mac wants to get up but he can't break Nansen's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Mac is fighting to break Nansen's control of his arms but Nansen is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

That was a close second round but I would say that Marcos Nansen will probably get the nod.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Nansen is looking for a triangle but Mac pushes his legs off easily.

Nansen has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mac can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Nansen had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Mac is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Nansen Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Mac's back instead.

Nansen is trying to stick to Mac's back but Mac is turning into Nansen. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Nansen's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Mac.

Nansen has instead reached around Mac's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Nansen arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
