Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kendrick Gentry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Taylor Powell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are William Gold, Richard Clark and Steven Brown.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Powell thows a leg kick but Gentry checks it
and Powell takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Gentry is looking to clinch.
A head kick by Powell misses
and Gentry counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Gentry tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Powell manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Powell misses with a hook to the body
and Gentry counters with a nice uppercut.
Powell throws a lazy head kick
and Gentry counters with a series of strikes. Powell will be more careful next time no doubt.

Powell changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Gentry looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Gentry explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
Gentry could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Powell misses with a takedown attempt
and Gentry counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Gentry tries to clinch but Powell is having none of it.
Powell changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Powell throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Powell feints and as Gentry raises his hands in defense, Powell changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Powell stands up over Gentry, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Powell in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Powell keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Gentry's head.

Powell must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Gentry has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Powell can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Gentry is breathing heavily.
Powell arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Gentry's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!
