Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hakuna Matata (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bu Laia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Laia's choice of entrance music: ""E Ala E" by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Hakuna Matata! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bu Laia! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Donatello Bradman and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Laia clinches up with Matata and pushes him back against the cage. Laia has Matata pushed against the cage. Matata managing to block the knees to the body from Laia.

Laia's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Matata really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
That's one minute gone in the round. The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Bu Laia. Matata tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Matata fails miserably with a takedown attempt. A solid body kick from Laia. Laia lands a with a good body shot. Matata shoots in for a takedown but Laia shows good takedown defense. Matata is breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Laia connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Matata's hands. Bu Laia is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Laia lets loose with a powerful body kick. Matata will feel that in the morning. Laia closes the distance and pushes Matata back into the cage. Laia landing some nice looking knees to the body.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Laia. Laia comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Laia takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. A right hook to the body lands for Laia.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Laia lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Oh Matata is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Matata letting Laia take a breather here. Nice elbow from Laia. Laia pressing his opponent against the cage. Matata seems to have got his legs back now. Laia has the Thai clinch. He lands a big knee to the head and Matata goes down! Laia dives on top of him - Matata manages to get guard.
Laia controls the pace of the fight for a moment. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Laia pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Matata is keeping the position for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bu Laia dominated that round. The cut man is working on Hakuna Matata's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

That's one minute gone in the round. Laia creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Matata's defenses. Laia stalling against the cage.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Laia lands an elbow inside that Matata shrugs off. Laia connects with a nasty looking knee right to Matata's face.

Laia continues to stall. The referee tells him to work or he's going to break them up.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Laia unloads a knee to the mid-section. Matata lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Laia using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
Laia gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. Matata letting Laia take a breather here. Laia prevents a takedown attempt there.

Hakuna Matata's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it. Laia content to slow the pace in the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bu Laia showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Hakuna Matata's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Matata steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Laia. That one must have hurt. Laia has closed the distance and engaged Matata in a clinch.
Bu Laia seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far. Laia taking a breather. Laia tries a knee to the head but Matata blocks it.

Matata is working for position but Laia cracks him with a big knee to the head! Matata crumples up against the cage and Laia lands two more shots before the ref can save Matata! This one is all over!
