The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Serrano misses with a takedown
and Willems counters with a leg kick.
Willems with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Willems misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Willems darts in and clinches Serrano up against the cage.
Serrano tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Willems smiles and moves away.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Willems.
Willems displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Serrano.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jeffry Serrano. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Serrano doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Willems counters with a two punch combo.
Willems lands a nice looking body kick.
A nice inside leg kick there by Willems. That's going to slow Serrano down.

Willems has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Serrano regains guard immediately.

Willems stands up and waves to Serrano to follow him.
Serrano looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Willems is fending him off so far but Serrano persists. Nope, Willems circles away and we're back to standing.

It looks like Jeffry Serrano has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Serrano shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Willems as he avoids it easily.
Serrano is breathing heavily.
Serrano is trying hard to land a takedown here. Willems sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Willems has taken the fight to the clinch.
Willems tries to land a knee to the head but Serrano blocks with his arms.

Willems escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Serrano shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Willems sprawls well. Willems wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Serrano gets slowly back to his feet.
Willems fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Serrano.
