Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Luis Engracia and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Orphan uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Vera.
Orphan throws a big counter combination but Vera scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Orphan ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Vera tries to clinch up but Orphan circles away and keeps his distance.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Vera has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

It looks like Orphan has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.

Vera feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Vera tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Vera has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
