The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Akki takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Jone bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Akki's head backwards.
Akki thumps Jone with a low kick.
Jone throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Akki counters with a nice uppercut.

and Akki counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Akki attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Jone, as that shot connected.
Akki moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Jone's coach down at Canadian Dragon MMA was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Jone's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Jone misses with a low kick.

Jone just misses with a punch to the body.
Decent striking displayed by Jone there.
Good leg kick by Jone there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Akki is rocked!
Jone lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Akki up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Jone from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Akki's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.
