PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Wilson Ferrall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Valentin Shovkovskyj (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ferrall closes the distance and clinches.

Ferrall drags the fight down to the ground.
Shovkovskyj postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Ferrall is trying to keep Shovkovskyj in close.

Ferrall is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Ferrall throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Shovkovskyj escapes and throws Ferrall's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Shovkovskyj thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Ferrall had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Shovkovskyj defends it easily.

Shovkovskyj drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Shovkovskyj jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ferrall shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Shovkovskyj as he avoids it easily.

Ferrall pushes Shovkovskyj off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Ferrall is defended easily by Shovkovskyj.

That was a close round but I would say that Wilson Ferrall will probably get the nod.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
