Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ira Dyer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Dermody (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dermody is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Apollo 440 - Can't stop the rock. John Dermody has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, John Dermody!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Andrew Berry and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dyer shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Dermody is trying to defend but Dyer finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Dermody looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Dermody is looking to improve his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dermody looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dyer not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Dermody is defending against the submission attempts here by Dyer.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Dyer is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Dermody drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Dyer struggling a bit here.

A close round but John Dermody will probably get the nod.
That's time! Dyer's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Dyer closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Dermody's guard.
Dyer would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Dyer manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Dermody on his heels. He'll look to pass Dermody's guard now, I'm sure.

Dyer working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Dermody's head.

Dyer is looking to stand up but Dermody won't let him.
Dyer throws a strike but Dermody rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Dermody postures up.

Dyer isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Dermody stacks Dyer on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Dermody!

Dermody tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Dermody has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Dyer tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Dermody wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Dermody is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Dyer has escaped the position, nice work there.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Dyer is trying to improve his position.
Dyer gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Dermody prevents Dyer from improving his position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ira Dyer dominated that second round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!



Dyer shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Dermody napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Dyer lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Dermody down.
Dermody takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dyer goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Dermody rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Dyer's guard! Nice work there by Dermody!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dermody takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Dyer wants to sweep but no luck.

Dyer is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Dermody can do to turn this around?
Dyer keeping full guard, as Dermody tries to pass.
Dermody slips nicely into half guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Dermody wants to advance to full mount but Dyer doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
Dyer is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Dyer is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Dyer is trying to keep Dermody in close.

I would just about give that final round to John Dermody.
