PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Death Row (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tokamek Yeets (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Row comes to the cage accompanied by Who Da Champion. Yeets has chosen Nuclear Fusion as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Death Row!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tokamek Yeets!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Emerson Jorge and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Row shoots in and drives through. Yeets sprawls well.
Row shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Yeets as he avoids it easily.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Row avoids the body shot from Yeets.

Yeets bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Row takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Yeets works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Yeets wants to lay and pray for a moment but Row keeps working.
Yeets working the ground and pound.
Yeets is looking to take a break and control but Row is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Row parries the strikes from Yeets easily there. Yeets is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Row to escape.
Yeets misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Yeets cracks Row with a big elbow.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Row is trying to improve his position.
Yeets scoring with punches and elbows.

Yeets controlling from side mount.
Row is working to avoid the ground and pound but Yeets connects with a decent elbow.
Yeets blocks the strikes from Row.
Yeets working the body and head with strikes.
Row tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Row is working hard here to advance position.
Yeets postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Yeets has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Yeets scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Row to see if he's OK.
Row wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Row is trying to get back to half guard.
Yeets is putting a hurting on Row here, landing some big shots from side control.
Row manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Yeets punching from the bottom.
Yeets wants to control but Row is keeping busy.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Row is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Yeets has managed to free his arm - good work.
Yeets is looking for a sweep. Row is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Yeets trying to control here.
Yeets is looking to improve his position.
Yeets striking from half guard on the bottom.
Row prevents Yeets from improving his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Row fails with the takedown
and Yeets counters with a head kick. That will keep Row thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Death Row. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Row blocks the body kick.
Row shoots and misses

and Yeets counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Yeets looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Row with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Row looking for submissions off his back.
Yeets is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Yeets connects with a nice short shot to Row's temple.
Yeets missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Nice strikes from Yeets there.
Yeets is taking a breather. Row says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Yeets is looking to take a break and control but Row is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Yeets landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Yeets wants to control but Row is keeping him busy.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are battling for position here. Row manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Yeets trying to control but Row is working from the bottom.
Row wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Yeets with a flurry of punches that miss.
Yeets in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Yeets wants to control from the top but Row keeps moving.
Yeets stands up over Row, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Row has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Yeets can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Row looking for a guillotine here but Yeets defends easily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Row keeping moving, preventing Yeets from controlling successfully.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tokamek Yeets dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Row throws a lazy right hand but Yeets sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Yeets shoots for a takedown but Row saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Yeets.
Row is not content to let Yeets control the position.
You can see the frustration on Row's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Yeets landing strikes.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Yeets grinds an elbow into Row's temple.
Yeets trying to control the position but Row is working away.
Yeets lands some shots froms side control.
Row is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Yeets off and has taken his back!
Row lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Row.

Row has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Yeets has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Yeets wants to control his opponent's hands but Row gets his hands free.
Row has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Yeets.

Row looking for the choke but no joy.
Row somehow managing to miss with a strike from the back.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Row doesn't have the hooks in and Yeets manages to turn into his guard.
Yeets trying to control the position from guard on top but Row is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Yeets throws a big right hand that misses.
Yeets keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Row's head.
Yeets with a nice head shot there.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Yeets's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Row is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Yeets distracts Row with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Row keeping moving, preventing Yeets from controlling successfully.
Yeets makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Yeets wants to pass the guard but Row is keeping the position.
Yeets with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Yeets postures up in Row's guard and throws a big left but Row blocks it.
Row is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Yeets landing some decent shots from guard.

Yeets is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Row has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Yeets is looking to defend but Row has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Yeets! Row pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Yeets taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:46 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Death Row!
