Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Eric Caulfield (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Caldwell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Caulfield comes to the cage accompanied by Ashes Divide - The Stone. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Eric Caulfield!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 28 - 32 - 0, fighting out of London, Jimmy Caldwell!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Andrew Berry and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Caldwell shoots for a double leg takedown but Caulfield sprawls well. He's pushed Caldwell's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
As Caldwell looks to move away, Caulfield throws a big counter combo but Caldwell just gets out of the way.
Caulfield misses with the combination.
Caulfield will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Caulfield throws a lazy uppercut
and Caldwell counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Caldwell shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Caulfield as he avoids it easily.

Caldwell scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Caulfield tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Caldwell wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Caldwell moves into full mount!

Caldwell is standing up, even though he is in mount.
A telegraphed right hand from Caulfield misses the target.
Caulfield circles away from the clinch attempt.
Caldwell is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Caulfield misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Caulfield blocks a head kick by Caldwell.

Caulfield moves out of range of the body kick.
Caulfield throws a series of punches but Caldwell avoids them all with ease.

Caldwell shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Caldwell stands up out of the half guard.
Caulfield jabbing away but nothing is landing.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Caldwell closes the distance and clinches up with Caulfield, looking for a takedown. Caldwell pushes Caulfield against the cage but Caulfield circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
A little feinted left hand from Caulfield on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Eric Caulfield has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jimmy Caldwell.
Caldwell's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Caulfield connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Caldwell scrambles back to his feet.
Caulfield takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Eric Caulfield is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Caldwell throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Caulfield tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Caldwell is in Caulfield's guard.

Caldwell wants to pass the guard but Caulfield is keeping the position.
Caldwell is pushing down on Caulfield's leg trying to pass to half guard. Caulfield is fighting to maintain full guard but Caldwell has managed to sneak the leg through.
Caulfield wants to get back to full guard but Caldwell has passed into side control.

Caldwell goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Caulfield has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Caldwell but great work by Caulfield.

Caldwell bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
Caulfield looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Caldwell pushes Caulfield up against the cage in a clinch.
Caulfield pushes Caldwell back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Caulfield throws a punch but it's blocked by Caldwell.

Caldwell pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Caulfield looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Caldwell looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it.
Caldwell avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Nice defenses there by Caldwell.
Caldwell throws a wild body kick that Caulfield sees coming a mile off.
Caulfield looks to land a right hand but Caldwell moved out of range.

Caulfield gets caught flat footed, as Caldwell shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Caulfield on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Caulfield tries to get out of the position.
Caulfield is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Caldwell stands and throws Caulfield's legs to the side, diving into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Jimmy Caldwell will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Caldwell avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Caulfield keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Caulfield takes the fight into the clinch.
Caldwell struggles to land a body shot inside as Caulfield controls his hands.
Caulfield just leaning against Caldwell, taking a breather.
Caulfield is looking to control Caldwell's arms but Caldwell gets an underhook and turns him. Now Caulfield has his back to the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The referee is keeping an eye on Caulfield - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Caldwell breaks the clinch.
Caulfield is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Caldwell's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.
Caldwell tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Caulfield paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Caldwell moves to clinch but Caulfield breaks away
and Caulfield counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Caulfield gets tackled into the cage by Caldwell. Caldwell maintains the clinch.
A body shot lands from Caulfield.

Caldwell breaks the clinch.
Caldwell tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Caulfield paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Caulfield went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Caulfield takes a jab right on the kisser.
Caldwell connects with the punch.
Caldwell throws a combination that misses
and Caulfield counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

A combination from Caulfield does no damage.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Caldwell tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Caulfield defends well and Caldwell ends up having to push Caulfield into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Eric Caulfield is winning the standup battle so far.

Caldwell changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Caulfield looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Caldwell is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Caldwell throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Caulfield.
Caulfield throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Caldwell on the side of the head.
Jimmy Caldwell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Caulfield rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Caldwell moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

The fight stays on the outside here - Caldwell looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Caulfield throws a big counter combination but Caldwell scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Caulfield throws a right and a left that Caldwell avoids nicely.

Caldwell manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Caulfield on his heels. He'll look to pass Caulfield's guard now, I'm sure.
Caldwell is standing up over Caulfield. Caulfield looks to escape but Caldwell dives into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.


Caldwell is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Caulfield is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Caldwell looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Caulfield is trying to improve his position.

Caldwell has hold of Caulfield's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Caulfield seems comfortable defending it but Caldwell has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Caulfield is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Caulfield is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Caldwell couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:18 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Jimmy Caldwell!
An out of breath Jimmy Caldwell thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
