PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dudley Mcmillan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shaun McTared (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McTared has chosen Llama song as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Shaun McTared has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Dudley Mcmillan's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dudley Mcmillan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shaun McTared!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Alan Glass and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McTared throws a head kick that misses.
Mcmillan seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
McTared looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Mcmillan is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from McTared.
Mcmillan could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
McTared shoots in for a double leg but Mcmillan sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Mcmillan moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
McTared lands with a thumping leg kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mcmillan stuffs the takedown attempt from McTared. McTared gets slowly back to his feet.
Mcmillan attempts a counter takedown but McTared avoids it well and moves away.
Dudley Mcmillan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shaun McTared.

McTared fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Mcmillan avoids it really well and circles away.
No luck for McTared with that takedown attempt.
McTared shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Mcmillan pinned against the cage. Mcmillan gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Mcmillan changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
No luck for McTared with that takedown attempt.
Mcmillan pulls out of a head kick attempt.
McTared wants to counter with a clinch but Mcmillan pushes him away.

McTared darts in and clinches Mcmillan up against the cage.
Mcmillan tries to throw a body punch but McTared avoids it by throwing Mcmillan back against the cage.

Mcmillan wants the takedown. McTared is fighting it off but Mcmillan persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in McTared's guard against the cage.

Mcmillan would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Nice sprawl there from Mcmillan as McTared shoots in.
As McTared tries to get set, Mcmillan tries to push him back and clinch up but McTared manages to avoid the attempt.
McTared shoots in and drives through. Mcmillan sprawls well.
No luck with that takedown attempt from McTared.
Mcmillan drops down looking for a counter takedown but McTared sprawls and moves away.
McTared looks winded!

McTared gets a double leg takedown into Mcmillan's guard.

Mcmillan scrambles and gets back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Dudley Mcmillan will probably get the nod.

McTared dives in and grabs Mcmillan's left leg, looking for a takedown. Mcmillan pushes down on McTared's head and hops out.

McTared closes the distance and pushes Mcmillan back into the cage.

McTared's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
McTared ducks under a wild hook from Mcmillan.
McTared swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Mcmillan counters with a takedown into side control.
Dudley Mcmillan overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
McTared seems a little lost for a moment, as Mcmillan dominates the positioning.

Mcmillan stands up.
A combination from McTared does no damage.
Mcmillan tries to counter with a takedown but McTared is quick to defend against it.

McTared moves into the clinch successfully.

McTared escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
McTared goes for a double leg but Mcmillan avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Mcmillan continues to drive forward.

Mcmillan tries to counter by moving into the clinch but McTared manages to circle out of the way.

Mcmillan shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

McTared wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Mcmillan wants to get up but he can't break McTared's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

McTared has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mcmillan can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Mcmillan wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but McTared has him pressed against the cage.

McTared breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
McTared throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
McTared throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Mcmillan.

That was a close second round but I would say that Dudley Mcmillan will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


McTared shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Mcmillan sprawls well. Mcmillan wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. McTared gets slowly back to his feet.

McTared closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Mcmillan tries to pull guard but McTared holds him up against the cage and eventually Mcmillan drops back down to his feet.

Mcmillan wanted to stand there but McTared had control of the position.
Mcmillan has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Mcmillan drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but McTared manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Mcmillan has McTared in his guard.

McTared throws a strike but Mcmillan rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Dudley Mcmillan is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

McTared is looking for a triangle but Mcmillan pushes his legs off easily.

And that's the end of the fight!
Dudley Mcmillan showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Mcmillan, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
