Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jamie Varner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 19 - 1, fighting out of London, Jack Stelling !
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Felipe Paraventi and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stelling misses with a takedown attempt

and Varner decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Stelling 's guard.
Varner content to stall in guard here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Varner manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Stelling on his heels. He'll look to pass Stelling 's guard now, I'm sure.

Varner feints and as Stelling raises his hands in defense, Varner changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Varner slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Stelling covers up after that shot from Varner.

Stelling grimaces as he takes a shot to the body.

Stelling rolls, trying to escape but Varner keeps control of the position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
This is a sustained period of stalling by Varner.
Stelling trying to control the action but Varner just sinks the hooks in.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Varner changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Stelling tries to avoid it but Varner manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Stelling to the ground. Stelling escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Varner throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Stelling was covering up waiting for the punch and Varner finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Varner is in close to Stelling 's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Stelling misses the shot to the body.
A jab from Stelling misses.

Varner shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Varner was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Stelling tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
Jack Stelling has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Varner postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Stelling looks a forlorn figure.

Stelling tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Jamie Varner showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Varner, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
