The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Kalil.
We've been told by Kalil's head coaches at King's Palace that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Kalil checks a leg kick.
Gene takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Gene throws a poor cross that misses
and Kalil connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Kalil lands a head kick that stumbles Gene and the fighters go to the mat.

It looks like Aleixo Gene has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Gene can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Kalil controls the pace.

Kalil gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Gene tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Kalil is able to avoid easily.
Gene misses with the body kick
letting Kalil counter with a right hand.
Gene has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Kalil.
Kalil fakes the leg kick and throws a superman punch. It's knocked Gene out cold! Brutal finish!
