Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Angelo Kelzenberg!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Oliver Gideon!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Ivan Kurochkin and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloppy strikes from Kelzenberg. Those never looked like landing.
Gideon throws a counter combo.
Kelzenberg throws a head kick that misses
and Gideon moves into the clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Kelzenberg's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Kelzenberg breaks the clinch.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Kelzenberg crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Gideon - the referee stops the clock and Kelzenberg gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Gideon. Kelzenberg manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Kelzenberg tries to clinch up but Gideon circles away and keeps his distance.
Gideon clinches up with Kelzenberg and pushes him back against the cage.
Gideon tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Kelzenberg smiles and moves away.
Gideon fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Kelzenberg was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Gideon takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kelzenberg connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Gideon momentarily.
It looks like Oliver Gideon has been cut.
Kelzenberg lands a jab to the head.
Kelzenberg feints a jab promting Gideon to slip. Kelzenberg then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Gideon slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kelzenberg fails with an attempt to clinch.
Gideon forces Kelzenberg back against the cage and clinches.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Kelzenberg escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Gideon tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
A solid body kick from Gideon.
Kelzenberg dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Kelzenberg digs a good body shot into Gideon's ribs.
Gideon tries for a takedown but Kelzenberg sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
A counter left hand to the body from Kelzenberg misses its target.
Angelo Kelzenberg has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Oliver Gideon.
Gideon tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Kelzenberg swivels and escapes.
Kelzenberg lands a big head kick that sends Gideon tumbling to the mat! Kelzenberg takes a step backwards and waves Gideon back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Gideon is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Gideon fails to land the takedown.
Gideon is still on wobbly legs! Can Kelzenberg finish him?
Gideon looks winded!
Gideon avoids the head kick by Kelzenberg.
Gideon seems to have recovered his senses.
Kelzenberg feints a kick and comes over the top with a right hand, followed by a left hook - both land, sending Gideon crashing to the mat! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Angelo Kelzenberg!
