These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Maynard Atkinson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ned Biggs!
The judges for this bout are Ron Honeybunn, Chris Dean and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Atkinson shoots in and drives through. Biggs sprawls well.

Biggs throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Atkinson was covering up waiting for the punch and Biggs finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Atkinson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Atkinson wants to sweep but no luck.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Biggs looking to pass the guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Atkinson being controlled here, momentarily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Biggs wants to control from the top but Atkinson keeps moving.

Biggs drops back, looking for a kneebar! Atkinson looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Atkinson looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Atkinson!


That's one minute gone in the round.

Atkinson swings around for an armbar but Biggs sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Atkinson's guard.

Atkinson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Biggs doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Biggs manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Biggs is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Atkinson is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Atkinson has escaped and now he's on top!


That's two minutes gone in the round.

Biggs looking for a triangle here. Atkinson is fighting it but it looks tight! Biggs pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Atkinson is tapping out - this one is all over!
