Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Casey Barrera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mighty Manlet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Casey Barrera has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Casey Barrera!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mighty Manlet!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Barrera shoots for a double leg takedown but Manlet sprawls well. He's pushed Barrera's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Manlet blocks a head kick by Barrera.
Manlet tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Barrera dives in for a single leg takedown but Manlet sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Manlet with the counter takedown but Barrera avoids it easily.
Barrera misses with a kick to the body

and Manlet counters with a nice double leg into side control. Barrera won't be happy with that.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Manlet moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Barrera wants to get back to his feet.
Manlet staying calm.
Barrera can't do much from the bottom here.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Manlet is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Barrera's shoulder. That is not cool.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Barrera dives in and grabs Manlet's left leg, looking for a takedown. Manlet pushes down on Barrera's head and hops out.
Manlet with the counter takedown but Barrera avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Casey Barrera. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Barrera drives through and clinches with Manlet against the cage.

Manlet has Barrera pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Manlet pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Barrera tumbling to the mat - Manlet dives into Barrera's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Barrera controls Manlet momentarily but Manlet frees himself.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Manlet is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Manlet tries to free his leg and advance position but Barrera is retaining full guard.
Barrera trying to keep a closed guard but Manlet is proving a slippery customer.
Manlet not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Barrera has his foot on Manlet's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Manlet works his way back into a safe position though.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Nice takedown defense from Manlet. No joy for Barrera on that attempt.
Manlet tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Barrera shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Manlet has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Barrera is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Manlet lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Manlet content to control rather than advance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mighty Manlet dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Barrera moves into the clinch.
Barrera tries to circle away but Manlet has him pinned against the cage.

Manlet has Barrera pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Manlet pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Barrera tumbling to the mat - Manlet dives into Barrera's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Barrera is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Manlet not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Barrera is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Barrera working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Manlet doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Manlet manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Mighty Manlet has got the better of the ground game so far.
Manlet slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Barrera is looking to cinch up a triangle. Manlet throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Barrera's body to avoid the submission. Barrera has instead reached around Manlet's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Barrera arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:21 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Casey Barrera!
