PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between HeavyWeight Prizefighter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pikku Kakkipylly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Prizefighter comes to the cage accompanied by Under and Over it by ffdp. On his way into the cage it seems that HeavyWeight Prizefighter has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily HeavyWeight Prizefighter seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 28 - 22 - 2, fighting out of Los Angeles, HeavyWeight Prizefighter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Pikku Kakkipylly!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Ren Mimura and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kakkipylly fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Prizefighter, pushing him back against the cage.
Kakkipylly on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Prizefighter gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Kakkipylly prevents a body shot from Prizefighter.
Prizefighter looking to throw knees to the head but Kakkipylly is blocking nicely.
Kakkipylly blocks a body shot from Prizefighter.
Prizefighter tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Kakkipylly avoids it.
Kakkipylly pushes off an throws an elbow but Prizefighter leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Kakkipylly comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.


It looks like HeavyWeight Prizefighter has been cut.
Kakkipylly has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. Prizefighter seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Kakkipylly can turn it around.
Prizefighter is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Kakkipylly is defending well for now.

Prizefighter tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kakkipylly sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Prizefighter somewhat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for HeavyWeight Prizefighter. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Prizefighter pushes Kakkipylly back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.

Prizefighter is trying to trip Kakkipylly. He has hold of a leg but Kakkipylly is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Prizefighter persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Kakkipylly is looking to control Prizefighter's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Kakkipylly avoid being mounted?
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Prizefighter not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Kakkipylly slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Kakkipylly throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Prizefighter won't allow Kakkipylly to get back to his feet.
Prizefighter really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

That's time! Prizefighter's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Prizefighter throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kakkipylly's waist but Kakkipylly gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Prizefighter off to one side.
Kakkipylly was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
Prizefighter misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Kakkipylly.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Kakkipylly.
Prizefighter avoids the head kick by Kakkipylly.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Kakkipylly counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Prizefighter is lucky that one didn't land flush.


HeavyWeight Prizefighter's cut is getting worse.
Prizefighter lands a head kick. Kakkipylly smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Kakkipylly! Prizefighter is out on his feet! Kakkipylly rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Prizefighter is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Prizefighter is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:33 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Pikku Kakkipylly!
