Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Kees Flodder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arvo Penaali (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Penaali has chosen Immortal Technique - Obnoxius as his entrance music. Arvo Penaali has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 33 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kees Flodder!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 12 - 1, fighting out of New York, Arvo Penaali!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Shigeki Sano and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Flodder misses with a lunging right hand
and Penaali counters with a stiff right hand.
A swing and a miss from Flodder.
Flodder scores with a nice right hand.
Penaali uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Flodder.
Flodder has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Vicious Striking in the buildup to the fight.
Flodder closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Flodder cracks Penaali with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Nice defenses there by Penaali.
Flodder walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Flodder swings widly with a right hand
enabling Penaali to counter with a crisp jab.
Flodder keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Penaali takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Penaali takes one on the chin but seems OK.


It looks like Arvo Penaali has been cut.
Flodder misses with a double jab
letting Penaali counter with a right hand.
Flodder throws a hook but Penaali blocks it.
It seemed like Penaali was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Penaali connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Flodder misses with a right hand
and Penaali counters with a stiff right hand.
Penaali on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Flodder thows a left - swing and a miss!
Penaali scores with a nice right hand.
Flodder swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Penaali counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Flodder has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Penaali is working away from the top position though.

Penaali moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Flodder.
Penaali landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
Flodder is trying to improve his position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Penaali landing a few strikes.
Flodder is looking to regain half guard here but Penaali keeps moving and retains side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Penaali working away.
Flodder is not content to let Penaali control the position.

Penaali is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Flodder has escaped the position, nice work there.
Penaali cracks Flodder with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Penaali wants to control but Flodder is keeping him busy.
Flodder gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Flodder is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Penaali pulls his head out easily.
Flodder tries to get to full guard but Penaali has control of the leg.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Flodder moves into full guard.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Flodder escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Penaali gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Penaali's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Penaali working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Flodder's head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Flodder throws his legs up looking for a submission but Penaali uses it to pass to side control.
Flodder is looking for a sweep.
Penaali lands a decent elbow from side control.
Penaali scoring with punches and elbows.


Flodder is rocked!
Penaali is working Flodder over with some ground and pound from side control.
Oh Flodder is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Flodder manages to get back to half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Penaali lands a nice short elbow.
Flodder wants to improve his position but Penaali is controlling well.
Flodder tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Penaali has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Penaali unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Flodder wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Penaali celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Arvo Penaali!
