The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Edmondson drives through and clinches with Mcgowan against the cage.

It looks like Jarrod Mcgowan has been cut.

Edmondson breaks from the clinch.

Edmondson dives in and scores a takedown into Mcgowan's guard.

Mcgowan pushes Edmondson off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Edmondson looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Edmondson instigates a clinch.
Mcgowan is trying to pull guard but Edmondson has him pressed against the cage.

Edmondson has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Mcgowan uses from the top position.
Edmondson has Mcgowan pulled in close to control his posture.

Mcgowan chips away with some ground and pound.
Edmondson manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Mcgowan manages to get himself to full guard.

Edmondson wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Mcgowan's closed guard. He's half up but Mcgowan has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Mcgowan pivots and extends the arm, Edmondson falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Mcgowan! Well done that man!
