The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Micheangelo Fripello and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mason misses with a straight left.
Mason uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Catchmaer.
Mason is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Catchmaer.
Catchmaer throws a shot from downtown. Mason moves away and avoids it.
Mason swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Catchmaer punishes Mason's body with a nice straight punch.
Catchmaer jabs Mason to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Catchmaer looks to land a left hand but Mason moved out of range nicely.
Catchmaer rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Mason counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
It looks like Gabryel Catchmaer has been cut.
Mason throws a head kick that misses.
Catchmaer misses with a looping right.
Catchmaer throws a series of punches but Mason avoids them all with ease.
Mason thinks about countering with a head kick.
Catchmaer misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Mason.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mason moves into the clinch successfully.

Catchmaer breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Mason takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Gabryel Catchmaer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Catchmaer thows a left - swing and a miss!
Catchmaer throws a one two combo.
Mason is looking to clinch but Catchmaer is avoiding it.
Catchmaer tries to counter by closing the distance.
Mason fails with an attempt to clinch.
Catchmaer takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Catchmaer throws an off balance right hand
and Mason counters with a perfectly timed head kick, knocking Catchmaer out cold! Wow, that took some serious skill and not a little luck! Mason is taking it in his stride though, strolling around like it's no big deal. What a guy.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Mitch Mason!
