The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Corkhill with a lazy takedown attempt
enabling Pettis to counter with a crisp jab.
Corkhill shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Corkhill takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Corkhill shoots and misses
and Pettis counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Keiran Corkhill. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Pettis defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Corkhill.
As Corkhill backs off Pettis throws a huge counter combo but Corkhill manages to avoid it all.
Horrible takedown attempt by Corkhill or perhaps it was just good defense by Pettis, which made it look bad.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Corkhill shoots in looking for a takedown but Pettis manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Corkhill's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Pettis swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.

Pettis is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Corkhill presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Pettis breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Keiran Corkhill seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Pettis lands with an overhand left.
Corkhill darts in looking for a takedown but Pettis gets double underhooks and turns Corkhill into the cage.
Pettis misses with a left hand

and Corkhill counters by clinching up.

Pettis breaks the clinch.
Corkhill fails with a takedown attempt.
Pettis unleashes a big counter combination but Corkhill bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Corkhill tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Pettis defends well and Corkhill ends up having to push Pettis into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Pettis comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Corkhill has a takedown stuffed.

It looks like Keiran Corkhill has been cut.

Pettis throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Corkhill sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Corkhill shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Pettis counters with a stiff right hand.
Pettis throws a hook but Corkhill avoids it easily.
Pettis swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Corkhill shoots in and drives through. Pettis sprawls well.
Pettis swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.

and Pettis cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Corkhill doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Corkhill takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Pettis clobbers Corkhill with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Pettis counters with a nice right hand that sends Corkhill toppling to the canvas! Corkhill scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Pettis finish him?!


Corkhill is rocked!
Corkhill walks into a straight right, dropping him to the canvas! Pettis swarms him and finishes the fight with a hail of punches! What a brutal finish!
