The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tyler shoots for a double leg takedown but Utley sprawls well. He's pushed Tyler's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Utley lands with a kick to the temple. Tyler shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

It looks like Ben Tyler has been cut.
Tyler darts in looking for a takedown but Utley gets double underhooks and turns Tyler into the cage.
Utley throws a head kick but Tyler moves out of range.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Tyler is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Utley's shoulder. That is not cool.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Tyler gets tackled into the cage by Utley. Utley maintains the clinch.

Utley's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Utley misses with a head kick.
Tyler fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Utley looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Utley escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Tyler changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

Tyler closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Utley's guard.

Tyler is taking a breather. Utley says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
