The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Todd moves into the clinch successfully.
Francis tries to pull guard but Todd holds him up against the cage and eventually Francis drops back down to his feet.
A frustrated look appears on Francis's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Todd has Francis pressed against the cage.
Francis jumps guard but Todd turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Todd pulls guard successfully.
Todd pulls Francis in close to prevent any damage.
Todd throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Francis drops back, looking for a kneebar! Todd looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Todd looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Todd!

Francis is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Todd tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.

Francis tries to bench press Todd off him but Todd keeps the position.
Francis is trying to control Todd's posture but Todd avoids it.
Todd has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Todd scores with a couple of short elbows.
Todd lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
A lull in the action here as Todd stalls from top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Todd gets to mount! Francis was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Todd controlling the pace for now.
BOOM! Todd connects with a massive shot to the dome!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Todd sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
