The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
luc tries to clinch up but Johnson circles away and keeps his distance.
luc moves in looking to clinch but Johnson pushes him off.
Some bone on bone action there as luc checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Johnson pivots, looking for a leg kick but luc is out of range and Johnson settles back down.
luc fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Johnson circles away from the clinch attempt.
Johnson steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from luc. That one must have hurt.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

and luc counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Johnson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
A lull in the action here as luc stalls from top position.

luc shoots for a takedown but Johnson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

luc escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Johnson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
luc will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
