Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Umber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Glenn Watchdog (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Tiny Johnson and Alan Glass.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Watchdog throws out a loose jab but Umber uses good head movement to avoid it.
Umber shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

Watchdog moves into range and clinches up with Umber.
Umber tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Umber jumps into guard, dragging Watchdog to the mat.
Umber looking to control but Watchdog passes into half guard.
Umber wants to improve his position but Watchdog is controlling well.
Watchdog trying to control the pace.
Umber tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Umber tries to get to full guard but Watchdog has control of the leg.
Watchdog uses his free foot to push down on Umber's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Umber.

Umber is wriggling around trying to escape.
Watchdog is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Umber can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Watchdog wants to control the pace but Umber is squirming around nicely.

Watchdog jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Umber is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Umber and Watchdog has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Watchdog decides to stand back up. Watchdog steps back and let's Umber get back to his feet.

Watchdog fails with the takedown.
Watchdog throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Umber's waist but Umber gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Watchdog off to one side.

and Watchdog counters with a shoot takedown. Umber fights it but they end up in guard.
Umber has control of Watchdog's left arm, preventing Watchdog from doing any damage.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Watchdog is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Umber is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

and Watchdog moves into the clinch.
Umber wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Watchdog has him pressed against the cage.
Umber jumps guard but Watchdog stands there with Umber around his waist. Umber gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Umber tries to pull guard but Watchdog won't allow it.

Watchdog breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Umber wants to clinch up but Watchdog keeps it at a distance.
Umber pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Umber shoots in and bounces Watchdog off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Umber is breathing heavily.
Watchdog looking to hit a scissor sweep but Umber is one step ahead there.
Watchdog is trying to keep Umber in close.

Watchdog looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Umber has picked Watchdog up and slammed him! Watchdog can't keep hold of the triangle and Umber manages to pass to side control!

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Watchdog is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Watchdog gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Watchdog gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Watchdog apologises and we restart here on the feet.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Watchdog is pushing down on Umber's leg trying to pass to half guard. Umber is fighting to maintain full guard but Watchdog has managed to sneak the leg through.

Watchdog has hold of Umber's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Umber manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Glenn Watchdog showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

and Watchdog counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Umber working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Watchdog doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Watchdog manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Well Watchdog has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
