Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Conor Macguire (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kenneth Ank (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Macguire comes to the cage accompanied by This Fire Burns. Ank has chosen RATM as his entrance music. Kenneth Ank has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Kenneth Ank!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Chris Edwards and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick from Macguire lands but Ank takes it in his stride.
Macguire uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Macguire wants to clinch.
Macguire throws a head kick but Ank moves out of range.
Macguire could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Macguire throws a one two combo.
Ank keeps the fight on the outside.
Ank unleashes a big counter combination but Macguire bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
A head kick by Macguire misses
and Ank counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Macguire wants to clinch up but Ank keeps it at a distance.
Macguire throws a right and a left that both miss.
Macguire throws a sloppy head kick and Ank moves out of range easily.

Macguire throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Ank stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Ank will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

and Ank counters with a three punch combo that has Macguire backing up. Macguire nods at Ank to acknowledge the strikes.

Macguire clinches up with Ank and pushes him back against the cage.

Ank lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Macguire accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Macguire thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Ank has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Macguire can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Kenneth Ank has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Macguire cracks Ank with a solid left hand.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Macguire, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Conor Macguire decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
